After announcing the first-of-its-kind collaboration between M.I and Naeto C, the two biggest names in Nigerian hip-hop, Hennessy Artistry’s organisers have revealed that there will also be additional supporting acts featured on the project.
Hennessy fans are being given the opportunity to select these additional performers who will also be given the spotlight on this year’s Hennessy Artistry train.

The hit track which is a well organised song with good lyrics has a unique beatwhich is currently gaining air play and getting the attention of party goers.

The video was directed by PATRICK ELIS, and features cameos from the likes of SAMKLEF, MAGNITO, ENGAGER, X-BOY and the NUTTY RECORDS CREW.

ALBUM REVIEW: DAVIDO – O.B.O: THE GENESIS – “TALE OF THE SON OF A RICH MAN”

David Adeleke popularly known as Davido impacted the Nigerian music arena with his first major single and became a household name in less thana year. This feat is anything but easy to accomplish; arguably the not so fantastic singer has his music deeply rooted in hearts of fans and critics alikeand the plot thickens with the release of his suggestive titled debut LP “Omo Baba Olowo: The Genesis” a.k.a “O.B.O:The Genesis”.
Unlike the Bible, ‘All of You’ make up for the opening minutes of the book. Conceivably packed with subliminal messages as the artiste sings “…My manger is bigger than… HKN is is betterthan… All of you”; yet David still found a way to hit a commendable score. Thesecond chapter is the self-produced debut single of the singer with a guest appearance from Naeto C where David rants about ‘Back When’ he was broke and it is arguably my favourite track of the LP.
I cannot endorse this as the new schoolmusic nevertheless Davido, Sina Rambo & B-Red teams up for the disappointing ‘New School Things’. Davido makes up for the slack time with the suggestive ‘Video’ enriched with a groovy mid-tempo production credited to Maleek Berry, still the lyrics of the song is conflicting. On ‘Sade’ Davido tries to flex with weak vocal chords and the adjective ‘weak’ sums up the track but shines on ‘Ekuro’. HKN’s gang Sina Rambo appearances in‘No Visa’ and ‘Overseas’ are also a let down, you find the duo ranting about riches et al and not doing a good job atit; also B-Red surfaces on ‘Enter The Red’. With money comes fake friends, we are happy that Davido and Kay Switch realize that in ‘Dollars in the Bank’.
It is safe to say he saved the best for last as the final moments of Davido’s O.B.O showed promise and possible climax of the tale with numbers like the2Face assisted ‘For You’, the J-Sleek produced winner ‘Mary Jane’, the DoktaFrabz produced ‘Feel Alright’ with vocal credits to Ice Prince as they talk about the rollercoaster nature of their relationship with weed and the smash hit ‘Dami Duro’ which propelled the singer’s career to another level. The last chapter is ‘Bless You’ which features May-D, and sees the rich boy assisted by the dark-skinned vocalist appreciating and expressing gratitude to God for his blessings, well everyone loves a song with a hint of spirituality.
The tale of the song of a rich man fails to match up the momentum built before it hereby we are faced with a bunch of so-so mid-tempo tunes degraded by sub-standard vocal technique notwithstanding currency notes ensured that the production is stellar still the O.B.O: The Genesis falls short of expectation but there is room for improvement.

Arguably the self-acclaimed overseer ofBayelsa State and award-wining recording artiste ‘Timaya’ thought of upgrading his craft hence enlisted the services of four men; Yung D who starred as the producer while Vector, Attitude and Terry G makes guest appearances in his quest. Mother of Nigerian entertainers, Peter and Paul Okoye popularly known as P-Square is dead.
It was gathered that Mrs. Okoye lost the battle to a sickness which has not been disclosed. Noword yet from Peter, Paul, Tony, Jude and the rest of the Okoye siblings. But close sources confirmed that at the initial stage of the illness, she was taken to St. Nicholas Hospital, one of the most expensive medical centres in Nigeria. She was later flown abroad for furthertreatment, where she passed on.
Since the news broke, the Psquare family has been receivingcondol ence messages from friends and colleagues.
Mrs. Okoye was fond of attending her son’s events as often as she could, her last public appearance being the P-Square Invasion Concert in August 2011.

About 2 weeks ago I came on a show where I aired my views on the diss between Reminisce and Lanre; after recording I started reminiscing about when I paid a close friend of mine a visit sometime in June. As I walked intohis street, about 40% of the persons onit were dancing wildly to “Kako Bii Chicken”; it takes more than luck for anartiste to accomplish that, you need talent and a “Book of Rap Stories”. Reminisce is no stranger to us, after reading his book I hunted down the 2Mussh rapper and questioned him about his feud with Vector, rap, local cuisines blah blah;
Ogagus: A friend told me that you hail from Edo State, how true is that?
Reminisce: *laughs* I am from Ogun State, Ajilete Yewa South Local Government Area.
Ogagus: Many do not know that you’ve being in the game for a very long time; how was it experience like waiting for your turn to drink from the cup of success and being a Jah Bless protege?
Reminisce: Well, it feels very good having watched 9ice and Jahbless grow up and gathering so much experience, it shouldn’t be difficult at this point.
Ogagus: You’re talented no doubt, itsamazing how you switch from the street yoruba rap, to the much morefine tuned rap. How do you do that?

Reminisce: There will be no remix! Shit blew up with me doin the Fuji part and all but if there were to be any, Terry G anytime, any day.
Ogagus: Some people think the Vector diss was very unnecessary, that Reminisce was over zealous and just wanted to show his guts. What is your relationship with Vector like?
Reminisce: I had to address what I thought wasn’t proper, nothing personal! Na success matter at the end of the day; I have one of the biggest songs in the country, what more could Iask for?
Ogagus: Have you heard the Distractions track and should we expect a reply from you?
Reminisce: Yeah!!! Mad jam but I no hear my name sha oh. Any which ways;I have no reason to compete with anyone. I’m too busy getting money, listen to the intro of ‘Kako Bii Chicken’ again, I have moved on to greater things! That answers it all.
Ogagus: Who is your favourite Nigerian artiste?
Reminisce: 2face because of his humility, with all those awards, bros still as humble as ever.
Ogagus: If Da Grin was alive, I believe multiple collaborations between the both of you would havebeen amazing. How was your relationship with the rapper before he passed on?
Reminisce: Da Grin is on my album, track 6 titled ‘Gbabe’ and I was very cool with him prior to his death.
Ogagus: What would you change about the Nigerian music industry, if you had the power to?
Reminisce: I would include structure!
